╰┈➤ Drones that don't have any known security weaknesses can be vulnerable to a type of attack called electromagnetic fault injection (EMFI).


╰┈➤ This attack can allow someone to take control of the drone and make it do things it's not supposed to do.


╰┈➤ IOActive researchers found that by injecting a specific type of EM glitch at the right time when the drone is being updated, an attacker can gain control of the drone's main processor, which is like its brain, and access the operating system that runs the drone's functions.


╰┈➤ The research focused on a popular drone called Mavic Pro. This drone has security features in place to protect it, but the researchers found a way to bypass those protections and take control.


╰┈➤ The attack works by using a special coil placed close to the drone's processor. This coil causes disruptions that can corrupt the drone's memory and allow the attacker to run their own code.
